We are pleased to announce that Amazon Robotics is continuing the AR Academy program into 2026!
About AR Academy
The Academy has evolved from a virtual connection point into the heartbeat of learning and community at Amazon Robotics. What began as a way to stay connected has blossomed into a thriving program where employees from every corner of our organization come together to learn, share, and grow.
More Than Training, It's Community
The Academy isn't just about what you learn; it's about who you become and the connections you make along the way. From January through June each year, we offer live, instructor-led sessions that break down silos and build bridges across teams. Whether you're just starting your journey with us or you're a seasoned veteran, The Academy has something for you.
Return to Office (RTO)
As we transition fully back to the office in 2026, your access to the Academy courses remains flexible. Participants can join classes from the location that works best for their learning and engagement-whether it's your office desk, a conference room, or home. Whenever possible, Academy Coordinators will use registration details to pre-schedule conference rooms for convenience. As a reminder all egagement courses involving activities like alcohol or cooking will continue to be scheduled outside normal business hours, enabling participants to join from home.
Access
The program is available to all Amazon Robotics "Blue Badge" employees with manager's approval. We encourage participation at all levels and all functions, and to use the Academy to learn something new, and as an opportunity to meet others across the organization. Remember, these courses are FOR THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE. We rely on your feedback to make this process work, so once you complete a class we ask that you fill out a short survey. Thanks and enjoy!
Although these courses are offered to you at no cost, we kindly ask that you only register for ones you’re committed to attending. Be sure to clear your schedule in advance. If you need to cancel, notify the Academy Coordinators at academy-ar-mailbox@amazon.com as soon as possible (at least 15 days prior for courses that include kits and 5 days prior for those without). This allows us to offer the spot to someone else on the wait-list. By reserving a seat and not attending or not canceling in time, you may prevent someone else from participating, so please choose thoughtfully. Please view the Academy Etiquette below for more details.
Also continuing from 2024, we have implemented a Credit Policy that is a credit score system based off of your class attendance. You start off with perfect "credit" however, if you cancel a program within 14 days of the class or do not show for the class your credit rating will go down. This score may impact your ability to sign up for future classes or attend classes you've already registered for, so take some time out to review the program.

Once you register for a course, you will receive a calendar invite. Be sure to download and add it to your calendar. Your registration will be recorded in the Splash management system. You will receive reminder emails at regular intervals, including one approximately a day before the class. These emails will contain information about the course, materials and readiness for the class. Be sure to review them in advance so you're well prepared for the class. One the day of the course simply find one of the emails, which will include an access button. Use the button to join your virtual class.
The course syllabus, pre-work and class materials can be accessed under the Resource section of each course. This information is also highlighted in the course reminders sent prior to the class. Additionally, Please note that pre-work and materials are typically available no later than three days before the class starts.
Yes. After registering for your class, you will need to manually select Outlook as your preferred calendar. Once selected, you’ll receive a confirmation email containing a calendar invite. You will need to download the invite and add it to your calendar yourself, it will not populate automatically. We also send a couple of reminders emails through the Splash management system, which will include the class invite. However, we strongly recommend adding the class to your calendar right after registration to avoid scheduling conflicts.
Waitlists are actively managed, so we recommended adding the class invite to your calendar in case your added. If a spot opens up, an Academy Coordinators will promptly fill it with someone from the waitlist. If you're are selected, you'll receive an email notification confirming your spot in the class. Since you registered for a waitlisted course, we assume you've already planned to attend if a spot becomes available.
Participants can take the class wherever it is most convenient for them to learn and engage. This includes their office desk, conference room, or home. Academy Coordinators will leverage the registration information to pre-schedule conference rooms whenever practical. As a reminder all social courses involving alcohol or cooking will be planned outside normal business hours enabling participants to join from home.
Yes, for two key reasons. First, the Academy aims to foster connection and engagement among Amazonians across different parts of the organization. Secondly, having your video on allows instructors to gauge real-time feedback, ensuring their instruction is effective and engaging. This interaction improves the overall class experience.
To facilitate meaningful participation, class sizes are kept small (usually under 30 participants) so everyone can be actively involved. Your participation and engagement are key to getting the most out of the learning experience.
If your course requires a kit (e.g., Mixology, Painting, Relax and Wellness, or any food-related classes), it will be sent to the address you provided during registration. Kits are typically shipped at least a week before the class begins, though they may arrive slightly later. If you haven’t received your kit three days before to the class, please contact the Academy Coordinators. Please note that if you do not attend the class, you may be asked to return the kit so it can be issued to someone else.
At the end of the final class session, you’ll be asked to complete a survey, which will be sent to your email. This is your chance to provide feedback on the course content, instructor, format, and more. Your input helps us work with the vendor and instructors to make improvements. The Committee takes pride in delivering high-quality courses and fostering engagement, so your feedback is valuable in ensuring we continue to offer meaningful content. Additionally, we will take a class photo at the end, so we encourage you to wear or bring your swag for the photo!
As soon as you know you cannot attend a course you’ve enrolled in, please contact our Academy Coordinators so they can offer your spot to someone on the waitlist. The earlier we receive notice, the better, as it increases the chances of filling the seat. We aim to avoid wasting company resources, particularly for high-cost courses, and want to ensure that every seat is utilized.
If there isn’t a waitlist, you may be asked to check if a team member or colleague can take your place. Our Splash management system provides reminders, so courses should not come as a surprise. Please ensure all classes are added to your calendar, and you’re prepared to attend.
We understand that conflicts may arise, but we encourage you to be proactive in notifying us to minimize no-shows and last-minute cancellations. By reserving a seat, you are preventing someone else from attending, so it’s crucial we have the opportunity to fill any vacancies as early as possible. While we strive to be accommodating, we want to keep last-minute cancellations to a minimum.
During Open Registration all remaining classes will be available.
Feel free to register for any available class.
All classes are listed in Eastern Standard Time.
